Welcome to DefeatThePurpose.net! We are a small community working towards creating a number of small independent projects, more for the experience than anything.
At the moment, there are two projects being worked on by DefeatThePurpose;
- Sultwodee - A sandbox video game project taking flavours from the classic Zelda, Pokemon, and Harvest Moon series', the focus is to build a successful life, by whatever means necessary. In Sultwodee, success is defined by multiple factors, from overall health, to money and assets, and happiness. The main activities will include farming, hunting, reselling, building, etc.
- Jumpy Boxy - This one is a "novelty project". It features a box. That jumps. Its a simple platformer that will act as more of an engine than a game. JB will be completely in greyscale and also feature community levels. After the game is completed, a dedicated level maker will be made; just for you. :-)
- The Syrax Legends - A trilogy of novels that are currently being kept under wraps. When the time is right, a dedicated project site will be made available in the menu on the left. The Syrax Legends are a set of three novels that span a thousand years, set in an epic world of no boundaries. Featuring floating cities, dark cults, gods, love, and death.
Sultwodee is the main focus at the moment, the design phase is complete, and programming has started. Basic gameplay (movement, tools, etc) is complete, and "pre-alpha" releases are available for testing. You can find all the details over at the dedicated site (link under Projects, on the left). |
